1. Crunching. I like the feeling of crunching something that I then eat. Extra points if it's very cold too. So... chocolate crispy cakes kept in the fridge, protein granola sprinkles from Lidl sprinkled over yoghurt, flake crumbled over ice cream and then smudged in. Very cold milk chocolate pretzel spiked chocolate.
2. Having a freshly cleaned and vacuumed house. I HATE cleaning. Hate is with a passion. The futility! But I just love living in a clean home. I don't know how the two reconcile as I'm that dick who finds a cleaner's refresh of my home not quite to my liking. I know, I know.
3. Crossing that thing off my to do list that really should have been done about 6 months ago.
4. Drinking my first coffee of the day at the bottom of the garden. Alone.
5. My youngest son doing my hair for me.
6. Seeing there's a new episode of Older & Wider podcast and listening to it alone.
I honestly think crunching should be on the list of therapeutic ways of managing ADHD symptoms. It's just the most satisfying texture! These are perfect. xx
I'm glad I'm not the only one who regularly needs top-ups of solar energy to get through the day.
One thing I always forget I like is cooking. I don't have many recipes in my repertoire, but I've basically perfected the few I have. Honestly, there's nothing better than doing my carbonara and realising I've absolutely *nailed* it.
Finding a new song hyperfixation is definitely on my list too, but I get so sad when I suck all of the flavour out of them with too much listening. Also long walks. I would add
- finding a good crisp to stamp on (ideally a Wotsit, Cheetoh, Monster munch, or Quaver).
Yes, you're so right that there's a price for the song - and it can be years before you get them back! Everything about cold outdoor swimming makes me want to stay indoors but I'm most delighted for you that you love it. Thank you!

That was fun. Thanks Alex! x

It's ALL about the crunching.

And what an excellent recipe to perfect!

- watching monster trucks crushing cars.
- finding a tasty edible mushroom in the woods.
- swimming outside, but especially if it's cold.
